As part of Teesside Greens, Darlington Greens stood candidates in every ward in the 2015 local council elections, the third largest number of candidates from any of the local parties, as well as a Parliamentary candidate.
After the Green Surge saw local party membership grow tenfold, Darlington Green Party group was officially founded late in 2015, with Natalie Bennett attending the launch.
In the 2019 local elections we were were successful in getting Matthew Snedker and Bryony Holroyd elected in College ward - the first Green Councilors in Darlington history!
